Welcome to the third part of the 'Dark World Deck' Strategy Guides. In this article we'll talk about Key Cards that can help the theme, as well as which DW Deck Type they belong to. Let's now begin.
Fabled Raven
We will begin with the card Fabled Raven. The Raven is a Level 2 Fiend Type LIGHT Monster which can help all versions of the Dark World Deck. It's effect allows it to discard any number of cards from your hand to the graveyard, in order to increase its ATK by 400 and its level by one. Let's see how this card can help the 4 different Dark World Deck Versions.
The Adreus Spammer
The Adreus Spammer deck type runs multiple copies of Sillva and Goldd, those Level 5 Dark World monsters that special summon themselves when discarded to the graveyard. By using Fabled Raven you can immediately discard 2 of those cards, so that you can increase raven's ATK and level. Afterwards, once the two monsters special summon themselves on your side of the field, you can Xyz Summon Adreus Keeper of Armageddon, or even Tiras Keeper of Genesis (depending on the occasion). Another possible combo (which is very rare, though) is discarding 3 of these monsters, so that you can have a total of four Level 5 monsters on your side of the field. You know what that means, don't you? A double Adreus/Tiras! But that's not Raven's only use in this deck! We should not forget that Fabled Raven is a Tuner card that can bring out any synchro monster, thanks to its ability to alter its level. A pretty easy and useful combo is to discard Sillva or Goldd, increase its level by one and then Synchro Summon for a Level 8 Synchro Monster!
The Tour Guide to the Dark World
Raven's use in this deck is limited to Synchro Summoning monsters and discarding your dark world monsters to gain advantage through their effects. However, we should not forget that this DW Deck Type runs Sangan, which can be searched by Tour Guide of the Underworld. What does that mean, you may ask. It means that you can Summon Tour Guide, special summon Sangan, Xyz summon for Leviair the Sea Dragon or Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, detach sangan to use their precious effects and bring Raven to your hand with Sangan's effect. That's right, that amazing combo with just one card!
The Miller
In this Dark World Deck Type Raven's use is limited to using its effect in order to discard Beiige or other Dark World Monsters, and then Synchro summon or use the effects of the discarded monsters.
The Dark World
This deck type can make the most out of that card! It can combine Xyz Summoning with Synchro summoning, as well as precious effects and a nice beatstick's presence. Do you have a couple of Beiiges at your hand? No problem! The Raven will discard both of them, in order for you to have a field of three Level 4 Monsters. Later on you can Xyz summon for cards like Number 39: Utopia or Number 10: Illumiknight. Does your opponent have a full field which can't be taken down? No problem again! Raven will discard the Beiige, increase its Level and then you will be able to Synchro Summon for Black Rose Dragon and blow up the whole field! And the story goes on like that!
That's pretty much it about the Fabled Raven. Let's now continue with another card: Morphing Jar!
Morphing Jar
Morphing Jar! An amazing card in this deck! Rock Type, Level 2 with 700 ATK and an amazing effect, which will allow you (and your opponent) to discard all cards in your hand and draw 5 brand new ones! Morphing Jar is an amazing card which can be used in all versions of the Dark World Deck, since all of them need to discard stuff. And... who would say no to 5 new cards? Even if this card gives 5 new cards to your opponent as well, the bigger advantage will be yours, since all of the cards used in the procedure (the ones discarded and the ones drawn) are all pluses for you! Morphing Jar might prove to be bad in the mirror match, but that's something we'll talk about in a future article about the Deck's Matchups.
Note: This card can be found more easily in the 'Tour Guide to the Dark World' deck type, as it uses Sangan, a card that can search Morphing Jar when discarded to the Graveyard.
Moving on to the last basic key card we'll be talking about today, Card Destruction!
Card Destruction
Card Destruction is another pretty useful card for all the Dark World Deck Types. A Normal Spell Card, with an ability pretty similar to Morphing Jar's, as it will let you and your opponent discard all cards in your hands, but unlike morphing jar, it will let you draw the number of cards you discarded. It's still a great and very useful card that can give you a very important advantage. However, just like Morphing Jar, this card will really hurt you in the mirror match.
So, that's it for the Basic Key Cards for the Dark World Deck! The article will continue in the future with even more Basic Key Cards mentioned! Until then, I hope that you enjoy reading the Dark World Deck Strategy Articles as much as I do writting them!
Thank you all for reading my blog,
- Adreus.
