That's a new kind of articles I'm going to be making from time to time, in order to help new players, or player with financial difficulties become competitive in Locals-Level Tournaments without having to spend a fortune! Since the last week we've devoted ourselves into the Dark World Deck, I believe that it would be most proper to start this new 'segment' with that deck. So let's go!
We'll take The Miller Deck Type, among the three 'special' Dark World Deck Types, as the others require expensive cards, such as Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon (35+$) or Tour Guide from the Underworld (150$)!
Before we begin with the list, I'd like to advice you not to buy the cards included in the Deck individually, but buy 3 Structure Deck Boxes immediately. Buying all the cards, one by one, may result into spending more money, due to shipping costs and other factors! So, spend 30$ and buy three Structure Decks.

Yeap, that's right. You can spend just ~100$ and make a competitive and effective Dark World Deck! See you soon, in the next 'Budget Deck Builder' Article!
can i compulsory or solemn with something else
ReplyDeleteHello sir!
ReplyDeleteCompulsory Evacuation Device should be replaced with Solemn Warning, which is coming in the Wave 2 Tins, in November 1st. The reason I used Compulsory in this Budget Deck, is because Solemn Warning's reprint wasn't announced back then. As for Solemn Judgment, I believe that there is no card to replace it efficiently. You can either not run it at all, if you don't like it, or run it in the deck.
i got 40 pounds only now this is what i did
ReplyDelete3X Structure deck gates of the underworld £22.75
2X Ryko £4.99 each (9.98)
1X Morphing Jar £ 5.00
--------------
£2.25 balance
I'm left over with
No:
Dark Hole
Solemn Warning
D.A.D
2 Compulsory
1 MST
1 Solemn Judgment
WHAT CAN I DO PLS HELP!!!!!!!
and
ReplyDeletemirror force
+2 pod
actually the RYKO is 4.50 so my balance is 3.25 pounds
ReplyDeleteApart from the Solemn Warnings, these are cards that you can easily get, as each of them doesn't cost more than 1-2$ (apart from the Solemn Judgment, which may cost 3-4$).
ReplyDeleteSo all I can suggest you to do is save up money or trade cards for the ones that you need. I can't see any better solution, unfortunately.
Would the deck work without ryko
ReplyDeleteHello sir!
ReplyDeleteOf course it would. Besides, there are several different Dark World Deck Versions. You can check our article named "Dark World - The Deck Types", to find more about them!
Interesting, though I must ask, with so little big beaters/no Goldds and Silvas how dose this thing plan to win? Dose it just spam removal and hope to beat down with Grapha? I ask because I am interested in Dark World myself but I just don't understand how a goldd/silva-free list without something like Black Luster Soldier + DAD can actually be damaging enough to win?
ReplyDeleteAm I underestimating this deck's monster removal power or do I actually have a valid point?
Goldds and Sillvas can prove to be rather useless in lots of occasions, and in a build which doesn't run basic cards that add up to its consistency, running Goldds or Sillvas would be a great risk. You are in fact underestimating Grapha's power, as he is a 3000 beater who can be used in lots of ways - not just as a floater or a beatstick. Also, let's not forget the fact that you can also Xyz summon pretty easily in this deck!
ReplyDeleteAs for DaD or BLS, these are tech choices. It is up to you whether they will be applied to the deck or not ;)
Thanks for your comment, really appreciated!
- Adreus.
I see. But you only run one XYZ summon, so I must ask, again, how dose this deck win with only 5 wincons? Am I underestimating the search ability of Snoww to assure you get an early grapha(as without an early grapha this deck looks like it will just get overun by pretty much anything.)or dose it have some secret combos that let it play the control deck? I'm sorry if I'm being annoying but I just want to know how this thing works since I'm interested in perhaps making it myself if it can actually win some games.
ReplyDeletecan we use grepher and if yes how many?
ReplyDeleteand something else grepher effect is both to discard from hand and deck?
ReplyDeleteTo the first reader:
ReplyDeleteIn the budget version of the DW Deck, there aren't as many options as there are in the normal build (the one running the full Xyz and Synchro Engine, along with Tour Guides and Raven(s)).
However, this does not mean that this deck can't do a lot by its own. Firstly, you can abuse the viruses (I only run one in this version, but as I said it's all up to you) and lock your opponent, while at the same time you vanish his life points away with a Grapha which keeps coming back. And as I previously mentioned, you have truly underestimated Grapha's power. Take for example BLS,which is considered to be the top card of the format, by many duelists. The fact that Grapha can take him down in battle, and then come back again, proves that he's better than it seems to be!
You can't expect to be very competitive in big events with the budget version of the deck, but this doesn't necassarily mean that the deck by itself doesn't have enough win conditions! ;)
To the second reader:
Grepher would be a terrible addition to that deck, since discarding a card is not part of his effect, but the cost of it. Therefore, you won't get to activate the effect of the Dark World monster which you discarded.
I ve got gorz so is it a good addition if yes what shoul I replace it with
ReplyDeleteSame goes with book of moon and foolish burial
Btw did you test this deck how did it perform
What are the chances Of getting grapha
I really need to know these information because there is a guy in my college, who is extremely cocky and confident about his deck it's not competitive but he thinks he cam beat me, I got all the cards I have for this deck and pls tell me the basic idea of this deck and other advantages I neeed to know pllllssss
I was the one from before inquiring about the lack of wincons, and I am wondering, would it be able to be made competitive and still be budget if it was taken in a more controlling direction instead of the usual "swarm" style of DWs? What I mean is run 3 skill drains and abuse the fact that your monster's effects are not negated by drain because they happen in the graveyard. Of course, that means you'll need a way to protect drain, but drain seems like it could be a decent alternative to having tons of wincons. If you can't get wincons easily, just control the game until you can get out the few you have. I am not sure how competitive a skill-drain DW deck would be, though, so I would like your opinions on it.
