Here we are again with the Semi Finals Feature Match, as promised, featuring Twilight versus Anti-Meta Chaos! Having won the dice roll, the Chaos player opted to go first! And that's how the Match began..
Duel 1
For his first turn, the Chaos player Normal Summoned Doomcaliber Knight and set 3 face-down cards. Before he ended his turn, the Twilight player used Effect Veiler in order to trigger Doomcaliber's effect so that it would destroy itself.
The Twilight player activated Heavy Storm, hitting Mirror Force, Mystical Space Typhoon and Solemn Warning. "No Starlight?" asked happily the Twilight player. Afterwards, he activated Gold Sarcophagus in order to add Charge of the Light Brigade to his hand, two turns later. He Normal Summoned Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress, attacked with her directly and ended his turn. During his End Phase, he milled Tragoedia, Celestia, Lightsworn Angel and Monster Reincarnation, thanks to Lyla's effect.
Back to the Chaos player, who normal summoned Banisher of the Radiance and ended his turn.
After taking some time to consider his move, the Twilight player attacked Banisher with his Lyla and ended his turn, milling Judgment Dragon, Glow-Up Bulb and Beckoning Light.
Banishing Banisher & Doomcaliber from his graveyard, the Chaos player Special Summoned Chaos Sorcerer during his turn. He then Normal Summoned Doomcaliber Knight and declared an attack against Lyla, destroying her. He then made a direct attack with Chaos Sorcerer and passed.
Two turns had passed since the activation of Gold Sarcophagus, so the Twilight player added Charge to his hand and continued by activating it. He milled Card Trooper, Chaos Sorcerer and Solar Recharge and added Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior to his hand. Next, he activated Glow-Up Bulb's effect, by sending Dark Hole from the top of his deck to the graveyard, in order to force Doomcaliber to negate it and tribute itself. He passed after setting 1 card in each zone.
The Chaos player began his turn with a Pot of Duality, which revealed Mystical Space Typhoon, Smashing Ground and Bottomless Trap Hole. He picked MST and shuffled the rest cards back to his deck. He then activated MST in order to destroy his opponent's face-down card, but the Twilight player chained it! It was Beckoning Light, which allowed him to discard his 3 cards in hand, in order to add from his graveyard to his hand two copies of Judgment Dragon and a copy of Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner. Chaos Sorcerer destroyed the face-down Necro Gardna and the Chaos player ended his turn after setting a Spell or Trap.
After drawing for his turn, the Twilight player activated Foolish Burial, in order to send Ehren, Lightsworn Monk from his deck to his graveyard. Now that he had 4 Lightsworn monsters with different names in his graveyard, he was able to Special Summon Judgment Dragon - which he did. He called priority and destroyed every other card on the field with the cost of a thousand life points. Without a second thought, the Chaos player conceded, as he realised that the game would be over in a few seconds.
A devastating Beckoning Light provides the Twilight player the win at the first duel. One more win and he would move on to the finals! Both players dove into their side decks, and after some changes Duel 2 began, with the Chaos player going first!
Duel 2
The Chaos player kicked things off by Normal Summoning Thunder King Rai-Oh and ending his turn.
This forced the Twilight player to activate Dark Hole, in order to get rid of the monster that stopped him from activating his next card: Charge of the Light Brigade! After milling Monster Reincarnation, Chaos Sorcerer and Card Trooper, he added Garoth to his hand. Next, he activated Solar Recharge by discarding Garoth, which let him draw 2 cards and mill Ryko and Celestia. He set a monster and ended his turn.
It was the Chaos player's time to activate his own copy of Dark Hole, which destroyed his opponent's face-down Necro Gardna! He must had expected to see a Ryko, as it was clear that he was truly disappointed after seeing the Gardna being sent to the grave. He then activated D.D. Crow in order to banish Necro Gardna from his opponent's graveyard (an important missplay), which forced his opponent to activate Gardna's effect by banishing it! The Chaos player continued by Normal Summoning a second copy of Thunder King and attacking directly, although the previously activated Necro Gardna prevented him from achieving it! The Chaos player passed with no further actions.
The Twilight player drew for his turn and Normal Summoned Ehren. He declared a direct attack with his monster and then, during the Damage Step, activated Honest to destroy the opposing monster! He set a face-down Spell or Trap and ended his turn after milling Judgment Dragon, Effect Veiler and Chaos Sorcerer thanks to Ehren's effect.
The Chaos player started a really intense turn by activating Soul Release! What an old yet effective card to use against a deck like that! He targeted Judgment Dragon, Honest, Celestia, Chaos Sorcerer and Ryko from his opponent's graveyard, but the Twilight player chained his face-down Beckoning Light in order to discard the two cards he was holding and add Celestia & Ryko to his hand, thus preventing them from being removed. Afterwards, the Chaos player Normal Summoned Dimensional Alchemist and called priority on his effect in order to remove Torrential Tribute from the top of his deck and boost his monster's attack by 500. He then banished D.D. Crow and Thunder King Rai-Oh from his graveyard, in order to Special Summon Chaos Sorcerer and use his effect on Ehren. After a direct attack with his Alchemist, the Chaos player ended his turn!
After taking some time to consider his move, the Twilight player set a monster and passed. There was not much he could do with most of his useful monsters having been banished.
Back to the Chaos player, who Normal Summoned D.D. Warrior Lady and entered his Battle Phase. He attacked with Chaos Sorcerer into a face-down Ryko, which activated its effect, destroyed the Chaos player's Lady and milled Lyla, Effect Veiler and a Sorcerer. Next, he attacked with Dimensional Alchemist directly and ended his turn.
Moving on, the Twilight player activated Solar Recharge by discarding Wulf, Lightsworn Beast, drew 2 cards and milled Glow-Up Bulb and Plaguespreader Zombie (!). After thinking for a while, he activated Gold Sarcophagus in order to banish Judgment Dragon and add him to his hand two turns later. He then used Monster Reborn to revive Thunder King and tributed it to Summon Celestia, Lightsworn Angel. Next, he milled Heavy Storm, Special Summoned his Bulb and Synchro summoned using both of his monsters to bring Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth out! After Gaia destroyed Chaos Sorcerer by battle, the Twilight player ended his turn.
All the Chaos player did for his turn was to use Alchemist's effect by removing Bottomless Trap Hole from the top of his deck, switch the Alchemist to Defense position and set a Spell or Trap card.
The Twilight player began his turn by drawing and using Plaguespreader's effect in order to Special Summon him from the graveyard. Following up, he Synchro Summoned Scrap Dragon by using both of his monsters as Synchro Materials, and called priority on his effect, by targeting the Dragon himself and his opponent's backrow card! The effect resolved successfully, thus destroying Scrap Dragon and a face-down Dimensional Prison. The Twilight player passed with no more actions.
The Chaos Player Special Summoned another Chaos Sorcerer and switched his Alchemist in ATK position. He attacked with both monsters directly and ended his turn.
Two turns had passed since the activation of Gold Sarc, so the Twilight player added the Judgment Dragon to his hand. Next, he Special Summoned him, used his effect by paying 1000 Life Points and destroyed every other card on the field (Alchemist got the Chaos player a removed from play Chaos Sorcerer). He declared an attack with his Dragon but his opponent had Battle Fader! He ended his turn and milled Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Lyla, Foolish Burial and Celestia thanks to Judgment Dragon's effect.
Back to the Chaos player, who Special Summoned the Chaos Sorcerer he had previously added to his hand and used his effect on Judgment Dragon. A few moments later, the Twilight player conceded, realising that there was nothing that could be done to change the outcome of the game, as the Chaos player had just used another copy of Soul Release!
An aggressive playstyle with constant Chaos Sorcerers Summoning and Soul Releases helps the Chaos player even the score! The winner of the next duel would move on to the finals!
Duel 3
Duel 3 began with the Twilight player setting 1 monster face-down.
The Chaos player set 1 monster and 3 Spell or Traps and ended his turn.
The Twilight player activated Heavy Storm, destroying his opponent's cards (Torrential Tribute, Mirror Force & Bottomless Trap Hole) once again! "You never learn", commented the Twilight player! Next, he flip summoned Ryko, destroyed the opposing face-down D.D. Warrior Lady and milled Card Trooper, Plaguespreader Zombie and Foolish Burial. He declared a direct attack with Ryko but his opponent responded by Special Summoning Battle Fader!
The Chaos player Normal Summoned Banisher of the Radiance and banished Ryko after attacking it and destroying it.
The Twilight player drew for his turn and Normal Summoned Honest which had its summon negated by Solemn Warning!
The Chaos player Normal Summoned Doomcaliber Knight and attacked his opponent directly. After receiving the Battle Damage, the Twilight player Special Summoned Tragoedia, forcing Doomcaliber Knight to tribute itself in order to negate it.
The next turn was the final turn of the match, as the Twilight player Normal Summoned Jain, Lightsworn Paladin and Special Summoned Black Luster Soldier. The Chaos player immediately scooped, knowing that his life points and his resources weren't enough for a comeback.
What an amazing Match! Unfortunately, only one player could compete in the Finals, and this would be the Twilight one, after a miraculous BLS Summon!
Thank you all for reading, stay tuned for the Final Match, featuring Destiny Hero Diva (Absolute Zero) versus Twilight!
