Plant Synchro - The Extra Deck

Hello everybody! Here we are with the Extra Deck Discussion as far as the Plant Synchro Deck is concerned. In this article we will separate some Extra Deck monsters into categories in order to explain which and why are played in the Plant Synchro Deck. So, let's begin!

 The Staple Synchros
This deck, just like every other, requires the use of the 'Staple' Synchros, in order to operate normally. The staple Synchro Monsters are the following:
Stardust Dragon: The well known Level 8 Dragon, able to negate every single destruction-related effect and destroy the card. Bring him out and you've got a 2500 ATK Beater with an amazingly useful effect.
Colossal Fighter: Another great Level 8 Synchro, with a total of 2800 ATK, which can revive itself when destroyed by battle.
Scrap Dragon: The last Level 8 Synchro Monster, which can get rid of your opponent's cards once per turn, opening the way for 2800 Direct Battle Damage!
Black Rose Dragon: A Level 7 Dragon which can blow up the field once it is Synchro Summoned.
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier: The best unbanned Level 6 Synchro Monster currently, which can pop any card back to its owner's hand, anytime.
Ally of Justice Catastor: A great Level 5 Monster, able to destroy any monster it battles, as long as it is not DARK.

The Plant Synchros
The Plant Synchros are the Synchro Monsters that are not used in just any deck. They find a very special and important use in the Plant Synchro Deck!
Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier: Being the latest Hidden Arsenal Dragon, Trishula is a Level 9 Synchro which can cause a lot of trouble to your opponent, especially because she can be Summoned pretty easily in this deck (as we will see in future articles).
Orient Dragon: A Level 6 Dragon which banishes a monster when he is Synchro Summoned. The Synchro Plant Deck is using Debris Dragon, which can be used only for the Synchro Summon of a Dragon-Type monster, thus not being able to bring Brionac out.
T.G. Hyper Librarian: As the name of the deck implies, this deck Synchro Summons a lot of monsters, a lot of times. Drawing a card for free each time this happens cannot be bad, in any case!
Formula Synchron: With all those Level 1 Tuners and the Fluff tokens, it is easy to bring this Machine out, in order to draw a card and then attempt an additional Synchro Summon, or use its effect during your opponent's turn.
Armory Arm: It has a pretty useful effect, it might be your only option in some cases, and it is one of the ways to bring out Trishula really easily (as we said above, we'll discuss about this in future articles).

The Xyz Monsters
Despite being named 'Plant Synchro', this deck is also able to Summon Xyz monsters truly easily and even use their amazing effects for its advantage. Let's see which Xyz monsters this deck can make the most out of.
Leviair the Sea Dragon: Probably the best Xyz monster designed for that deck, as it can be brought out with just 1 Tour Guide from the Underworld, and it can bring back any removed from play Level 4 or lower Monster.
Number 17: Leviathan Dragon: Just like Leviair, this dragon can be Summoned with just 1 Tour Guide and is a great beatstick which will help you in many tough situations, where the only thing that can save you is a high ATK Monster.
Number 39: Utopia: This 4-Ranked Monster can be sometimes pretty useful, if you want to delay your opponent until you set up the proper hand/field/grave, in order to unleash your powerful combos.
Steelswarm Roach: Xyz Summoning this Monster is feasible in this deck and it can stop some of the top tier decks during this format, like Agents (Hyperion, Synchro Monsters, Kristya) or Twilight (Judgment Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, Chaos Sorcerer).

So these are the 15 Monsters that should exist in every Extra Deck for every Plant Synchro Deck. Even though each player is free to make his own changes, like for example removing Colossal Fighter to add Red Dragon Archfiend, this is pretty much how the Extra Deck should look.

See you soon, in the next article about Special Combos in the Plant Synchro Deck.
Until then,
- Adreus.
